About Who we are

A two-person studio in the Annapolis Valley.

We're a two-person studio: one creative, one technical. We come at the same problems from completely different directions, which is the whole point. Between us, we cover the brand, the copy, the website, the emails, the automations, and the systems underneath all of it.

Julianna

Founder & Creative Lead

I started this studio because I kept watching small business owners pour everything into their work and then have no idea how to talk about it. The product was great, the service was great, but the website was a mess, the messaging was all over the place, and none of it matched what was actually happening inside the business.

I was a teacher for years before any of this, which is probably why I think the way I do. I'm always trying to figure out how to take something complicated and make it make sense to the person standing in front of it. I have a master's in equity, diversity, and social justice in education, which sounds unrelated until you realise that the whole degree was about asking, “Who is this actually for, and is it working for them?” I ask the same question about websites now.

The thing I've done in every job I've ever had is write. Content, copy, communications, brand voice. I've been doing some version of it for a long time. That's what I do here: I write the words, build the site, and figure out how a business should sound so that when someone lands on it, they get it.

Chris

Technical Architect

Chris has spent fifteen years building systems that have to work. Enterprise architecture, cloud infrastructure, AI, data platforms, automation, security, and the kind of technical backbone where failure is not an option.

His work has supported national public health systems, defence intelligence, geospatial platforms, and large-scale digital transformation projects across government and enterprise.

But small businesses are where he wants to be. The problems are just as interesting, the stakes feel more personal, and the results are easier to see. In enterprise work, you can be one of a hundred people on a project and wait years to see the outcome. Here, you're working directly with someone who built something with their own hands, and you can watch the right system, workflow, or website finally click into place.

How we work together

Two different ways of looking at the same business.

Julianna looks at what people see, read, feel, and understand. Chris looks at what happens underneath: how information moves, where work gets repeated, and what can be made simpler.

The useful part is where those two views meet. A website can sound right and work right. A client experience can feel thoughtful without creating more work behind the scenes. You don't need to know whether the thing bothering you is a brand problem, a website problem, or a systems problem before you come to us. We can figure that part out together.
